The Pastor serves as the
spiritual leader and shepard for the SGCC and works closely
with the church leaders as well as the congregation to foster
a loving and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ as
well as with each other.
Adminstrative Assistant - Cheryl Graves
The church's administrative assistant
performs all office responsiblities for the pastor, adminstrative
tasks for church leaders, the church newsletter, the church
bulletin and other tasks related to keeping the church's business
organized.
Music
Team - Val Clary, Director
Our music team arranges
and provides our church with joyful music sung at every service
and for special programs. Our music team welcomes new members
who have a heart for praise and worship. If you have a musical

Children's
Ministry - Jan Anderson, Director
Innovative and strong, Sunday
school provides Biblically-based, hands-on learning to all
school-age children. The children's
ministry also includes AWANA and Vacation Bible School-->
Discipleship
Ministry - Don Hohneke, Director
Discipleship assists church members
in taking opportunities to increase spiritual growth and awareness
and provides outlets and resources to engage in a more meaningful
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Small Groups:
Small groups provide opportunities for people to connect with
others on Bible-based studies, and grow in one's personal
relationship with Jesus Christ. There are Bible studies going
on during the week at different times. Always consult with
the church bulletin or contact the church office for most
current meeting dates and times.
The
Shawl Ministry
The River Valley Prayer Shawl Ministry is an ecumenical Christ-based
ministry reaching out to people in need of comfort and healing
within the River Valley area. Shawls can be created for celebration
events, but as our ministry gets started, we are concentrating
on those suffering from loss or illness. Find

Missions
Ministry - Denny Coppernoll, Director
Missions is a very important
part of church work, and the Missions ministry works to assist
a select number of people currently working in the global
mission field, and actively engages in prayer and promoting
projects that keep these missions strong, both spiritually
and monetarily.
Food
Pantry - Ron Robson, Director
Each month, the Community Food Pantry
serves approximately 35 needy families from the River Valley
area. They are comprised of children, the elderly, the working
poor and individuals who suffer from disabilities.
Diaconate -
John Schneller, Blair Anderson, Bob LeCount, Mary Robson and
Vicky Meinholz
The Diaconate helps serve the spiritual needs of the people
in the church. They work closely with the church leaders
and
pastor, and provide people support in spiritual guidance
and actively pray and help people in need. The Deacons also
prepare
church communion.
Prayer
Team: Weekly,
a group of prayer warriors in our church gather together at
various times to consider and pray for hundreds of people
and situations in absolute confidentiality and heartfelt love.

Trustees - Mike
Kieler, Jeff Shaffer, Jeff Vossekuil, David Cry and Ray Wahl
The Trustees manage administrative obligations and actively
work to make sure the church bills are paid and audits are
performed semi-annually.
Youth
Group - Flaming J.E.L.L.O., Gretchen Butts, Director
Flaming Jello. It's a wild and crazy
name for a wild and crazy group. Flaming JELLO is our youth
group for 7th-12th grade teens. Just what does JELLO stand
for? Jesus Everlasting Love
Lives On, and of course,
the Flaming represents the fact that our youth are "on
fire" for Christ.
Treasurer
(Tammy Shaffer) and Assistant-Treasurer
(Helen McCaffrey)
The Treasurer and Co-Treasurer work in tandem to perform the financial and fiscal responsibilities of the church. They are also responsible for keeping the church accounting system up to date, and they also prepare the annual budgets and reports for the ministries and present regularly to the Cabinet and Congregation.
Cabinet
- Linda Hohneke, Moderator; Mary Litviak, Church Clerk
The Cabinet
is comprised of the leaders of each minsitry unit, the Moderator,
the Pastor and the Church Clerk. The Cabinet represents a
voting body that maintains the church's business and continuously
works to connect the needs of the congregation into the ongoing
business of the church as a whole. The Moderator directs each
meeting, and is responsible for providing an agenda and progressing
meetings; the Church Clerk is responsible for recording meeting
minutes for both Cabinet meetings and Congregational meetings
and delivering them back to the church as part of its official
records.
