Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young.
Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way
you live, in your love, your faith and your purity.

If you are a teenager in 7th-12th grades
or are the parent of a teenager and are interested in learning
more about getting involved in our youth program, please contact
Gretchen Butts, Youth Director through our church office
at (608) 588-2442.
Because as the saying goes, "Theres
always room for JELLO", and there is always room for
you!
From
the Youth Director's desk
We live in a world with an estimated one
billion teenagers (13 to 19 years of age). Twenty-five percent
of the population of our globe, and more than fifty percent
of the second and third world are 18 or under. While the youth
of this world may have many needs, the greatest is a need
to know the saving love of Jesus Christ.
The goal of our youth ministry is to reach
young people for Christ, connect them with other Christians
and help them learn about Jesus so they can serve
and praise Him through their lives. It is our belief
that the by-product of a healthy and balanced youth ministry
will be a generation of young people who will take to heart
the challenge of the "Great Commission".
Flaming Jello. It's a wild and crazy name
for a wild and crazy group. Flaming JELLO is our youth group
for 7th-12th grade teens. Just what does JELLO stand for?
Jesus Everlasting Love
Lives On, and of course,
the Flaming represents the fact that our youth are "on
fire" for Christ.
Each Sunday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. (during
the school year), teens connect with other Christians for
an evening of fun, games, food, Bible study, prayer &
praise and discussion. Through these weekly meetings, teens
participate in a process of learning about their faith, a
process which we hope will last a lifetime. Many teens these
days are looking for a place to feel loved and accepted for
who they are. We hope that we are providing that place each
Sunday night.
Part of the practice of our faith involves
giving of our time and ourselves in service to others. Community
service is a focus of our Youth Program, which involves reaching
out and helping those in need: the hungry, the homeless, the
poor, the handicapped, the elderly, and children. Our teens
have been involved in numerous volunteer projects for the
betterment of our communities. Washing firetrucks, food drives
and leaf raking are just a few. Many youth also serve as "leaders
in training" for our AWANA program,
a weekly Bible-based ministry for younger kids.
Another focus of our Youth Program is to
reach others with the gospel of Christ. Youth are encouraged
to invite friends to fellowship events such as movie nights,
weekend retreats, game nights and weekly JELLO. There are
also opportunities to reach and serve others through summer
mission trips and special events such as World
Vision Thirty Hour Famine in which our kids spend 30 hours
fasting and raising money and awareness for World hunger.

Stay
tuned for more Flaming JELLO postings and events!
