Did you know that God already knows you,
loves you, and wants you to be connected to Him! It's true.
The Bible makes it clear that God cares about each one of
us in a special way. His greatest desire is that we find our
way home to Him and become a part of His forever family.
The Bible tells us that we have lost our
connection with God because of our rebellion against His rules
for life and our desire to "do it my way." As a
result, we are alienated from God, ourselves, and others.
The New Testament tells the story of how God decided to fix
the problem of our sin, making it possible for a sinful person
to be in the presence of a holy and righteous God. His Son,
Jesus, would assume our punishment by dying on the cross for
our sins and thereby impart to us His right standing with
the Father. He did this for us because he loves us. "For
God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes on Him shall not perish but have eternal
life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world through Him," John 3:16
and17.
The Apostle Paul summarizes this well when
he says in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God," and that "the wages
of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord," Romans 6:23. God wants to give you the
gift of salvation, the gift of wholeness, the gift of eternal
life, the gift of his Holy Spirit as an inner witness that
we are the new children of God, the gift of love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and
self control. There are more gifts than we have room to mention,
but the greatest gift is in knowing that we are forgiven,
accepted, loved and not alone. All of this and more can be
yours. How? Paul says in Roman 10:9 and10 "That if you
confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
Prayer of Acceptance:
Heavenly Father, I want to come home
to you and experience your love for me as a son or daughter
in your forever family. Forgive me for my sin (the wrongs
I have done). Thank you that Jesus was willing to suffer
and die on the cross to make my forgiveness possible. I
place my faith and trust in Jesus alone as my risen Savior
and Lord. I want to follow your ways and serve you with
the rest of my life. Thank you for the promise that you
will help me live in the fullness of life that is found
through faith in Jesus and in your love for me. Come into
my heart and be a part of my life for all eternity. In Jesus'
Name: Amen.
When we call out to God, He is present and
reaches out to us to save us and make us His own. If you prayed
the "Prayer of Acceptance", God promises to meet
you and welcome you into His family.
